“Port of Call,” by Beirut

It’s just so good! There’s really nothing else to say about this song, and from what I’ve heard of the upcoming album. Beirut was one of my favorite bands when I was traveling, for several reasons. First, some of their songs are in French, which I very much appreciate. Second, the instruments they use are very European and worldly. Perfect traveling music. And finally, the beats are heavy in most songs– perfect for traversing unknown streets endlessly.

This song, “Port of Call,” is from their upcoming album ‘The Rip Tide.’ It comes out August 30, but you can listen to it now at NPR.

Not the best video quality, but what the hell.
